Mysuru: The Mysore Centre of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE (I) had organised the ‘Design Safe’ Colloquium on “Liquid Retaining Concrete Structures” recently at Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Seminar Hall in National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in city.
Prof. C.N. Yadunandan of Civil Engineering Department, SJCE, spoke on ‘Analysis and Design of RC water retaining structures – A perspective,’ while Gopal. K. Navale, partner, SAN Engineering Company, Bengaluru, spoke on ‘A practical approach to design and construction of Liquid retaining structures.’
Dr. H. Ananthan, Professor of Civil Engineering, VVIET, defined the “Liquid Retaining Concrete Structures”and also gave a bird’s eye view of the proceedings. All the three presentations were absorbing as more than 200 people including M. Tech students, members of the Mysore Centre of ACCE (I), faculty members of civil engineering from different colleges and practising civil engineers participated in the event.
Dr. G. Ravi, Principal NIE, inaugurated the Colloquium by symbolically watering a plant. ACCE(I) Mysore Centre Chairman Er. B.R. Badrinath welcomed. Hon. Secretary H. S. Deepak proposed a vote of thanks, according to a press release from ACCE(I).
