Mysuru: A state-of-the-art Dialysis Centre was inaugurated at Columbia Asia Hospital in Mysuru here on Monday. The new Unit boasts of 12 individual dialysis ‘stations’ in a fully air- conditioned area with individual flat-screen televisions, so patients can watch their favourite programmes and use the Centre’s free Wi-Fi facility in comfort.
The Unit is scientifically designed, boasts spacious treatment areas, finished to a high standard with contemporary fixtures and fittings. Particular attention has been given to the lighting in the Unit. The design focuses on maximising natural light.
The Department of Nephrology and Transplantation provides high quality comprehensive kidney care encompassing Hemodialysis, Peritoneal dialysis, Out-patient, In-patient care and Transplantation to name a few.
Dr. P.M. Uthappa, Chief of Nephrology and Transplant Physician, Columbia Asia Hospital said: “Patients who require dialysis need lengthy sessions three times per week, so the environment is really important. This dialysis facility is purpose-built, where people can get high quality treatment they need in a safe, clean, bright environment, in a more relaxed, informal and comfortable setting.”
Dr. Upendra Shenoy, Chief Cardiac Surgeon and Chief of Medical Services, said “Having all patients in one area helps in monitoring the patients at all times and responding to their needs very quickly. ”
