Mysuru:  A three-day inter-college cultural festival AIISH Aawaaz organised by All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) began last evening at Panchavati campus of the institute on Bogadi Road here. The programme was inaugurated by popular stand-up comedian Gangavathi Pranesh.

Instead of delivering a monotonous inaugural speech, he began instantly coming out with his huge collection of humorous anecdotes from real life with the audience going into raptures.

Stating that the organisers plan well for an inaugural ceremony in Mysuru, he pointed out that in Bengaluru sometimes they forget to place a match box ready to light the inaugural lamp and enquire on the microphone whether a smoker was available!

Talking a jibe at women with a fetish for glamorous looks, Pranesh said that such women get addicted to beauty parlours for life and added that if they stop for a week they would have a face looking like the hindquarters of an elephant. He came out with many such humorous quotes with the audience bursting into laughter almost continuously thus energising the participants for the cultural show.

The valedictory will be held on Mar.18 at 6 pm with singer Vasu Dixit and team performing.
