Commonwealth Chess Open Championship 2017: Abhijeet Gupta wins title; Thejkumar fares well

GM Abhijeet Guapta won the Commonwealth Chess Open Title scoring 7.5 points from nine rounds in the championship which concluded here yesterday. Mysuru lad IM M.S. Thejkumar fared well in the championship by securing 6 points from 9 rounds and finished 17th in the final placings.

GM Vaibhav Suri and GM Tejas Bakre tied with 7 points each from 9 rounds and secured the second and third places respectively. Four players tied with 6.5 each secured the places from fourth to seventh respectively. IM M.S.Thejkumar lost his final round tie against GM Tejas Bakre.
