Mysuru: “Companies should be caring more about environment and through CSR activities, they should focus more on lake development, cleanliness and such other activities in the vicinity. Company Secretaries, who are closely working with the Directors and the Management, should convince their clients or employers in this regard,” said M.G. Yathish, Regional Officer, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).
He was speaking as one of the guests of honour at the two-day seminar on the topic “Emerging Compliance under Companies Act, 2013 and Related Corporate Laws” organised by the ICSI Mysore Chapter recently at the Chapter premises in Metagalli.
Dr. N.S. Rangaraju, former Professor, University of Mysore (UoM), was the chief guest. CS Bhagwan Das Mohta, Practicing Company Secretary (PCS), Bengaluru, was the guest of honour.
The two-day seminar covered the recent update on the following topics: Significant Beneficial Ownership Rules 2019 by CS K. Padmavathi, PCS; Company Law Amendments & Ordinance by CS S. Devika, PCS; Companies (Acceptance of Deposits) Amendments Rules, 2019 & MSME Compliances by CA K. Gururaj Acharya, PCA and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code by CS D. Ravisankar, PCA.
Around 100 Company Secretaries (CS) and students from different parts of India participated in the seminar.
CS Veerash Mysore Jagadish, Chairman of the Mysore Chapter, welcomed. CS Vijaya Rao, Secretary of the Chapter, proposed a vote of thanks.
