Visitors’ ire against parking lot contractor at Sriranganathaswamy Temple; Tahsildar warns of action, threatens to cancel contract
Srirangapatna: There is complaints galore about excess parking fee being collected at the parking lot near the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple here.
The complaints point to more parking fees being collected than the one fixed by the Temple Administration Board in the 2018-19 tender. The fees fixed for parking of bus, mini bus is Rs.50, for cars Rs.20 and for tempo and Qualis Rs.30. However, the one who has bagged the contract has thrown all rules to the wind.
He is allegedly collecting a lot more than the prescribed fee from the owners of four-wheelers and bus drivers. This has resulted in all of them being upset with this daylight robbery.
The receipts of collecting more money than the prescribed fee, is also available.
Another important point is that the receipts carry different logos, while a few receipts show the printing of ‘Town Municipal Council, Srirangapatna,’ the others just display ‘SRT Parking.’ This shows a clear violation of tender conditions, allege the people.
