Concern over shortage of scholars at Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies

Mysuru: Former University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa has expressed concern that Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) might close down in the coming years due to inadequate number of scholars.

He was speaking at a seminar on six literary works based on the life of 12th-century poet and philosopher Basavanna organised by KIKS in association with Sri Basaveshwara Centre for Social Change, Research and Extension of UoM and releasing three books published by Hastapratimale at B.M. Sri auditorium of KIKS on Monday. VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar presided. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, KIKS Director Prof. N.M. Talwar, Visiting Professor of Basaveshwara Centre Prof. Chandrashekaraiah, Prof. Honganuru Nanjaiah, Prof. P.K. Rajashekar and others were present.
