A meeting was held at the Department of Studies (DoS) in Physical Education and Sports Science auditorium, Sports Pavilion, University of Mysore, last evening to condole the death of M. Vijaykumar, Proprietor, Meghana Screens & Sports, Mysuru and former Mysore University kho-kho team captain, who was also the Treasurer of UoM Sports Persons’ Alumni Association, who passed away on Jan. 20.
The meeting was attended by Dr. C. Krishna, retd. Director, Department of Physical Education (DPE), Mysore University, Prof. Seshanna, retd. Principal, University College of Physical Education (UCPE), Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Director (in-Charge), DPE, Mysore University, Dr. Venkatesh, Chairman and Principal, DoS in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, UoM, Reshma Chengappa, former Mysore University basketball player and office-bearer, UoM Sports Persons Alumni Association, Sadashiva Bhat, Physical Education Director, Basudeva Somani First Grade College, Mysuru, Sampath, Vice-President, Pioneer Sports Club, Mysuru, Prof. Rudriah, Principal, Yuvaraja’s College, who offered floral tributes to the portrait of late Vijaykumar and recalled his services to the sports community.
Also present were on the occasion were National Institute of Sports (NIS) Coaches, Physical Education Directors of different colleges and sports persons.
