Conference on ‘Markets as Living Heritage’ tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The Wadiyar Centre For Architecture (WCFA), in collaboration with INTACH Bengaluru Chapter and Esthetique Architects, supported by NR Foundation, Mysuru, is organising a conference on “Markets as Living Heritage: The Case of Conservation and Revival” tomorrow (Jan. 6) from 9 am to 2 pm at the Multipurpose Hall of Wadiyar Centre For Architecture on Krishnaraja Boulevard in city.

Prior to the conference, the heritage experts and others concerned will visit the Devaraja Market at 8.30 am.

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Cha-maraja Wadiyar will be the chief guest and inaugurate the Conference at 9.30 am.

Renowned speakers, including Dr. Shikha Jain, Founder Director of DRONAH, Prof. Sanghamitra Basu, IIT Kharagpur (retd.), Dr. S,  Raghunath, Structural Engineer at BMS College of  Engineering, Bengaluru and Ranjit Patil, Structural Consultant from Pune, will share their valuable insights on the significance of traditional markets and their role in shaping the urban fabric.

Heritage Walk: A Heritage Walk has been organised by WCFA Heritage Club, to discover the charm of the old city of Mysuru and unravel its hidden treasures  from 3 pm onwards.
