Mysore/Mysuru: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Seshadripuram Degree College, Mysuru, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Management, recently organised a National Conference on Contemporary Research Trends in Commerce and Management in the college seminar hall.
Dr. D. Anand, CDC Director at the University of Mysore, was the chief guest and Dr. P. Nagesh, Professor and Dean, JSS Centre of Management Studies, Mysuru, was the keynote speaker.
In his address, Dr. Anand emphasised the significance of research, portraying it as a scientific pursuit. He underscored the omnipresence of truth and its value in contemporary society.
He delineated commerce as a dynamic field and discussed the roles of knowledge, wisdom and information in today’s commercial landscape, stressing the importance of information in resolving business challenges.
Additionally, Dr. Anand touched upon the pervasive influence of algorithms and social media, advocating for the embracement of technology as an ally.
Dr. Nagesh delved into current research trends and highlighted conferences as vital platforms for knowledge acquisition and presented various research topics, including Agile Workforce, Green Human Resource Management and Digital Marketing.
He also discussed the complexities of understanding human behaviour in business, focusing on ongoing research on Digital Buyers’ Behaviour (DBB) and pro-social behaviour.
Dr. M.L. Ashok, DoS in Commerce, University of Mysore, chaired the technical session on Contemporary Research Trends in Commerce, and Dr. Manjunath, BIMS, University of Mysore, led the session on Contemporary Research Trends in Management.
Paper presentations followed, with both offline and online formats accommodating a total of 70 submissions, including those from Research Scholars and Students. The conference concluded with a valedictory where Dr. Dharmaprasad, CEO and Chief Scientist of Prosetta Bioconformatics Private Ltd., Mysuru, was the chief guest and Dr. D. Parashiva Murthy, Assistant Professor at Government First Grade College, Hullalli.
The programme was attended by Principal Dr. K. Sowmya Erappa, Organising Secretary Gurumurthy Bhat, Assistant Professor of Department of Commerce and Management, faculty members, students and research scholars, contributing to a successful and enriching conference experience.
