Congress hands over food kit, insurance bond to COVID Warriors

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru City District Congress Committee distributed Corona Kavach Insurance Bond worth Rs. 2 lakh each to ambulance drivers and last rite performers of those who died of Coronavirus, in connection with 51st birthday of former AICC President, Rahul Gandhi  on Friday.

At a function held at Congress Bhavan here, former MP and KPCC Working President R. Dhruvanarayan distributed insurance bond and grocery kits to the beneficiaries.

 Speaking on the occasion, he said his party was responding to problems of COVID-19 hit people. Legislators, leaders and party workers from each Assembly Constituency have contributed crores of rupees towards helping people in distress. On behalf of party, they have given 250 ambulances and food kits.

He said that KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar distributed food kits to distressed people in Mandya. A similar programme was held in Hassan. There was serpentine queue of people in almost all the places to collect food kit which tells about people’s condition. 

Acting Mayor Anwar Baig, District Congress President Dr.  B.J. Vijaykumar, Youth Congress District President Donald, City Spokesperson Mahesh and others were present.
