Congress leader passes away

Congress leader Suraj M.N. Hegde, who was the grandson of late former Chief Minister D. Devaraj Urs, passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru following a heart attack on Sunday night. He was a resident of Dollars Colony in Bengaluru and also owned a house on Lalitha Mahal Road in Mysuru.

Suraj Hegde was AICC Secretary and State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority Vice-Chairman. He had served as the Congress party in-Charge of Tamil Nadu. Suraj was the son of Nagarathna, the second daughter of D. Devaraj Urs. He leaves behind his wife Shilpa Hegde, sons Samruddh Hegde and Vishruth Hegde and a host of relatives and friends.
