Congress Legislature Party meeting on Oct. 6

Bengaluru: A special meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has been convened on Friday (Oct. 6) to take stock of the implementation of the party’s poll preparation plans.

The Congress High Command is said to be unhappy at the poor participation of party Legislators in its ‘Mane Manege Congress’ mass contact programme launched recently. AICC General Secretary in-charge of party affairs in the State K.C. Venugopal is scheduled to participate in the meeting to be chaired by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah.

According to sources, Venugopal is unhappy at ‘Mane Manege Congress’ losing its steam after it was launched last week with much fanfare. Venugopal is also scheduled to chair a series of meetings later in the day with KPCC and District office-bearers, leaders of various wings of the party to review the progress of the formation of Booth Committees, mass contact programme and also the strategies, to counter the BJP’s proposed ‘Parivartana Yatra’ set to start on Nov.2.
