Congress stages protest against BJP

Mysuru:  Strongly condemning the tirade launched by BJP leaders against former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, the City and District Unit of Congress staged a demonstration in front of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue in Town Hall premises here yesterday.

Accusing BJP leaders of distorting the remarks made by  Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on BJP Dalit leaders during the campaign in the run up to assembly by-polls, the protestors alleged that the BJP was resorting to cheap gimmicks and making attempts to malign the former Chief minister.

Maintaining that Siddharamaiah has high respect for Dalits, they urged the BJP leaders to immediately stop maligning Siddharamaiah. Cautioning BJP against making any derogatory remarks targeting the former CM, they warned of staging a massive demonstration if the BJP leaders do not withdraw their statements immediately.

KPCC Working President R. Dhruvanarayan, MLC R. Dharmasena, KPCC Spokesperson Manjula Manasa, former MLAs M.K. Somashekar, Vasu and Kalale Keshavamurthy and others were present.
