Congress stages protest demanding Ramesh Jarkiholi’s resignation as MLA

Mysuru: Accusing former BJP Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi of making abusive and filthy remarks against KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar (DKS), nearly 200 members of the City and District Congress Units staged a demonstration at Congress Bhavan near City Railway Station this morning.

Lashing out at Ramesh Jarkiholi for his remarks against DKS in connection with sleaze CD case involving Ramesh, the protestors raised slogans against the former BJP Minister and demanded his immediate resignation from the Assembly.

Urging the Government to immediately arrest Ramesh in connection with the sleaze CD case, the Congress workers demanded registration of a separate case against Ramesh for insulting and insinuating DKS, who holds a responsible position.

Criticising the BJP for unfairly targeting Shivakumar in the CD case, the protestors warned of intensifying the protests if Ramesh does not voluntarily quit his Assembly seat.

The Congress workers are set to submit a memorandum to the City Police Commissioner later this afternoon seeking registration of an FIR against Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Former MLA Vasu, former ZAK Chairperson  Mallige Veeresh, former Mayors T.B. Chikkanna and Pushpalatha Chikkanna, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar and others took part in the protest.

Nayaka Yuva Sene protests against DKS

In a counter-protest, members of Karnataka Nayakara Yuva Sene staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here this morning in protest against KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar, for his alleged involvement in the making of sleaze CD.

Accusing Shivakumar of being the ‘kingpin’ in the CD case, they urged the Government to take legal action against him.Sene President Devaraj Katur and others took part in the protest.
