Bengaluru: The Congress has hit back at Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) over his allegations of a protocol violation involving Usha Shivakumar, wife of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who offered ‘Pushparchane’ to Goddess Chamundeshwari during the Dasara Jumboo Savari.
Countering Kumaraswamy’s criticism, the Congress cited an incident from his tenure as Chief Minister, claiming that his wife, Anitha Kumaraswamy, had also stood beside him on the dais during the Jumboo Savari when floral tributes were offered to the Golden Howdah.
The party shared old photographs on social media and questioned Kumaraswamy’s stand on the issue.
“Have you forgotten that when you were Chief Minister, your wife, Anitha, stood beside you while floral tributes were being offered to the Golden Howdah? You claim that D.K. Shivakumar’s wife is the first to offer floral homage to the Howdah, but have you forgotten the chapter that you yourself wrote 20 years ago?” the Congress asked in its post.
