Congress to launch ‘100 Not-Out’ campaign in protest against rising fuel prices from tomorrow

Bengaluru: Accusing the BJP Government of making holes in the pockets of the common man by hiking fuel prices every day, KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar said that the Congress will launch a 5-day ‘100 Not-Out” campaign against rising fuel prices from tomorrow (June11).

Speaking to press persons here yesterday, D.K. Shivakumar charged the BJP of looting  public money by hiking fuel prices almost every other day.

Pointing out that the price of Petrol has crossed Rs. 100 a litre in many cities and towns of the State, he said that the price of Diesel too is fast approaching the Rs. 100 mark. 

Strongly condemning the rising fuel prices, he said that the Congress will stage demonstrations in front of Petrol bunks from June 11 to 15 in five levels. 

Shivakumar declared that to start with, the Congress would stage protest in front of Petrol bunks at all District Headquarters on June 11, followed by protests in front of petrol bunks at all Taluk Headquarters on June 12, all ZPs and Hobli Centres on June 13, all GPs on June 14 and in front of prominent petrol bunks in major cities on June 15.

Announcing that the protest will be of one hour duration from 11 am to 12 noon on all the five days, the KPCC President said that office-bearers of all the frontline Units and Wings of the Congress party will take part.

Stating that the protest will take place under the guidance of an appointed leader in every district, he said that a short duration video of the protests will be sent to AICC.
