Bengaluru: Asserting that the Congress would win 141 seats in the May 10 Assembly polls, KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar maintained that there are no differences between him and Opposition Leader Siddharamaiah.
In an interview to a National news agency, Shivakumar said that he has faced 9 elections in his decades long political career, out of which he has won 8 times and lost only once.
Dismissing speculations about the rift between him and former CM Siddharamaiah as utterly baseless, Shivakumar contended that he could not say with assertion that the Congress would win with a thumping majority had there been any rift or dissidence in the party.
Coming down heavily against PM Modi and the BJP, Shivakumar maintained that the BJP has not kept any of its poll premises thus far and had also miserably failed in giving an able administration. Hitting out at PM Modi for ridiculing the “Guarantees” of the Congress, he wondered whether the BJP has fulfilled even a single pre-poll promise that it had made.
Pointing out that the Congress has placed a promise of 5 “Guarantees” to the people if it is voted to power, the KPCC President said that the BJP has not been able to digest the growing popularity of the Congress in the run up to the polls.
Sensing that the BJP would lose power in the State, Prime Minister Modi and other top BJP leaders are making frequent visits to the State in order to shore up the BJP prospects, which is a wasteful exercise, considering the fact that the people have already made up their mind on bringing the Congress back to power.
Accusing the BJP Government of rampant corruption and maladministration, he appealed the electorate to throw out the corrupt BJP Government which is dividing the society on caste and communal lines.
