According to Nagaraj, he received a call on his cell phone recently and the person on the other end, who claimed to be a bank official asked Nagaraj whether he was receiving messages from the bank regarding his transactions. The unidentified person, then told Nagaraj that the Bank was issuing new ATM card and asked Nagaraj to take the photo of his ATM card and WhatsApp the photo to his number (the number from which the conman had called).
Believing it to be true, Nagaraj clicked the photo of his ATM card and sent the photo on WhatsApp to the number and within 10 minutes, he received a transaction message from the SBI main branch that Rs. 9,999 had been withdrawn from his account.
