Nanjangud:“I am connected with Suttur Srikshetra since 1965 and Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji was my inspiration to garner strength in politics,” recalled former Prime Minister and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda. He was speaking after participating at Suttur Jathra yesterday.
Deve Gowda further recalled that he was a young novice in politics then and added that when he entered the Assembly, he was blessed by the then Suttur Seer. He contended that Suttur Mutt had carved a niche all over the world with immense contribution to education and health sector.
Continuing, Deve Gowda regretted that scientific development had diminished traditional and human values with power mongers ruining the society.
Educational revolution
“Suttur Mutt has created a revolution in education sector spreading its popularity across the globe,” said Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T.B. Jayachandra. He was speaking at the seminar on ‘Agriculture’ organised yesterday as part of Suttur Jathra.
Jayachandra said that Suttur Mutt was creating awareness in rural areas on agriculture thus educating farmers to come out with a green revolution especially with a focus on nutritions millets
