Construction Workers Association demands action against fake beneficiaries

Mysore/Mysuru: The State Executive Meeting of Karnataka State Construction Workers Association was held at Jaladarshini Guest House here on Sunday. Chairing the meeting, Association President P. Raju said it is important to ensure that the facilities and benefits provided by the Labour Department reach all the construction workers.

Stressing on the need for taking action against fake beneficiaries, who are wrongly cobbling up the benefits, Raju said that the authorities must ensure that fake beneficiaries are kept out from getting Govt. benefits and facilities. Stating that the Association welcomes Labour Minister Santosh Lad’s statement that strict measures will be taken to keep out fake beneficiaries, he alleged that the Labour Inspectors were not co-operating with construction workers.

He further said that a delegation would be taken out to the Labour Minister seeking full co-operation of Labour Department in delivery of facilities and benefits to genuine beneficiaries.

MLC A.H. Vishwanath, who also attended the meeting, said that he would be part of the delegation which will be meeting the Labour Minister soon to seek his support for the Association.

Association State Gen. Secretary Shivakumar, Vice-President Venugopal (Ballari), Working President Suvarnamma (Davanagere), State Gen. Secretary Anthony Babu, Secretary Antony Johnson, State Convenor Nagaraj Krishnapura, Mysuru District Unit President Shivanna and others were present.
