Mysore/Mysuru: Cauvery Heart and Multi-speciality Hospital, Mysuru, conducted a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on rectal cancer with hands-on workshop of GI Staplers at a private hotel in city recently.
Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Vidyashankar, who was the chief guest, stressed on the importance of artificial intelligence and asked the doctors to have a good interface between medical and engineering fields for the betterment of humanity.
Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) Dean and Director Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj, who was the guest of honour, explained about the importance of clinical examination in this modern era of gadgets and advanced investigations.
Chairman of Cauvery Heart and Multi-speciality Hospital and Syndicate Member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Dr. G.R. Chandrashekar and Senior Consultant Physician Dr. Javeed Nayeem were present at the programme attended by over 100 Surgeons and Post Graduates from various medical colleges and hospitals.
More than 15 doctors including Senior Oncosurgeon Dr. Anil Kamath, Dr. Aravind, Senior Medical Gastroenterologist Dr. Rajkumar Wadhwa presented their papers.
The CME was followed by a workshop where the uses of GI Staplers were explained and practiced by PGs and Surgeons.
