Mysore/Mysuru: The convocation ceremony of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) was held on Apr. 13 at the MYRA School of Business (MSB) in Mysuru.
Students from the class of PGDM-2024, along with their family members, Trustees, Governing Board members, faculty and non-faculty attended the ceremony at MYRA’s Athena Auditorium.
Dr. G. Raghuram, former Director, IIM Bangalore and former Dean, IIM Ahmedabad, who was the chief guest, delivered the keynote address.
Congratulating the students for their achievements, Dr. Raghuram gave insights about the global developments happening at a rapid phase and the need to build on skills as they embark on their corporate journey.
He emphasised three things — Effective Communication; Work Life Balance and Respect for others. Importance of listening, speaking truth in an acceptable way, working together as a committee, personal touch are some of the key skills to be developed, he told the students.
Speaking about work life balance, he highlighted about integrating well, value others thoughts and give importance to all in the interest of their growth.
Dr. Ramasastry Ambarish, Chairman of Board of Governors and Dean, spoke about rededicating MSB with the goal of building a “Top tier Business School in Mysuru” and MSB’s mission of “developing future-ready and globally competent business leaders grounded in Indian ethos.”
MSB’s PGDM is now “Digital Mastery” programme, which includes a complete portfolio of courses tailored to impart our students’ skills needed to thrive in the digital economy, he added.
Besides the usual courses on Business Intelligence and e-commerce, MSB has a full complement of courses in AI, ML, R & Python, Digital Transformation and Product Management in the Digital Economy, ChatGPT and Generative AI Models as well.
He also informed that now there is a Centre of Excellence (COE) on Cybersecurity, the Cyberverse Foundation and have also started a Centre for Entrepreneurship and Family Business, six months ago.
He said MSB has introduced two Certification courses, one in Digital Marketing and another in Cybersecurity for upskilling people in the industry.
Kantharaj Urs, Managing Trustee, urged the students to stay connected to their alma matter, treasure the memories and carry the values instilled going forward as they are the torch-bearers of the institution’s legacy.
MYRAcles S. Nidhishree and P. Vibha shared their experience and expressed gratitude in their valedictory address.
The Honour Board and the Dean’s List are Awards of Excellence and open to the students of PGDM programme.
