Cops trained to handle Reception Desk at Police Stations

Mysuru: A day-long training for Police personnel to be deputed for the proposed Reception Desks at all Police Stations in city was held at V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station here this morning.

Briefing the Police personnel, City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao contended that the Reception Desks would help the Police to communicate better with the public who come to the Police Station with grievances.

He asked the cops to give a patient hearing to the public and make them comfortable to air their grievances. He pointed out that a good rapport with the public would help them in early detection and prevention of crimes.

The Commissioner said that the personnel for the Reception Desk will be selected based on their behaviour and communication skills and added that the personnel of one Station would be deployed at another Station and not at the same Police Station where he or she is reporting.

Ten personnel from every Police Station in city participated in the day-long training. DCPs Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and N. Vishnuvardhana, ACPs and Inspectors were present during the inauguration of the        training programme.
