Mysuru: The counselling for admission to sixth standard (2019-20) in Government-run Morarji Desai, Kittur Rani Chennamma, Atal Behari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi and Ambedkar Residential Schools in the district began on May 21.
ZP Chief Planning Officer Prabhuswamy, speaking after launching the counselling at the Taluk Social Welfare Department office here, said that the counselling is being held for 1,840 seats in 38 Residential Schools of the district.
Pointing out that the counselling process will go on till May 25, he said that the counselling is being held on a 1:2 ratio. Stating that every school has 50 seats on an average, he appealed the beneficiary students not to let go their seats citing reasons.
Christ Deputy Shivakumar said that selection will be based purely on merit and middlemen will have no role in the allotment of seats. He cautioned the parents against falling prey to middlemen who make false promises on securing seats for their children.
District Co-ordinators Hemakumar, C. Ranganath and others were present.
