Gundlupet: A couple travelling on a bike on NH-766 was killed on the spot when a car rammed into the bike from behind near Raghavapura Gate yesterday. 

The deceased are Papanna (57) and his wife Puttasiddamma (48), residents of Raghavapura village in the taluk.

They were proceeding towards Gundlupet on bike when a Kerala-registered car rammed into their bike resulting in the couple being killed on the spot, according to the Police.

Following the mishap, traffic on the Highway was disrupted for more than 30 minutes. Begur ASI Doreraju, staff Siddaraju and others, who rushed to the spot, shifted the bodies to Gundlupet General Hospital and have seized the car besides arresting the car driver.

A case has been registered at Begur Police Station.
