Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Psychiatry, JSS Medical College & Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, will be commencing the 3rd Batch of the ‘Value Added Course on Primary Care Volunteer for Psychiatric Services’ from June 6.
This course in English is designed to strengthen community mental health services by training volunteers, students and interested individuals in basic mental health care, psychosocial support and early identification of psychiatric problems. The course aims to create community-level mental health volunteers who can support individuals and families and facilitate timely referral to mental health professionals when needed.
Eligibility: The course is open to all age group who have passed PUC (all disciplines, Healthcare professionals, social work and psychology students, NGO workers, community volunteers and interested members of the public who wish to work in the field of mental health). No prior mental health training is required. Sessions are held on Saturday afternoon — online in Zoom platform.
