New Delhi/ Bengaluru: In a setback to senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar, a Delhi Court on Friday extended his custodial interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till Sept.17, in connection with a money laundering case. Hearing on his bail plea too was adjourned to Tuesday.
Shivakumar, the sitting Congress MLA from Kanakapura, was arrested by the ED, when he appeared before it for questioning on Sept.3. Shivakumar was produced at the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday evening after the expiry of the ED’s nine-day remand.
Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar allowed the ED’s plea seeking extension of Shivakumar’s custody, after the agency claimed that Shivakumar had been evasive and gave irrelevant answers besides taking several brakes on the grounds of tiredness during the nine-day questioning.
