Mysuru: Ahead of Dasara festival, a 10-day ‘Yuva Sambhrama’ marking the launch of Dasara events will be held from Sept.17 to 26 at open Air Theatre, Manasagangotri in the city.
District Minister V. Somanna will inaugurate Yuva Sambhrama at the open Air Theatre at 6pm on Sept.17, following which well known actor Ganesh popularly known as ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh will inaugurate ‘Tara Meragu’ a colourful programme of cinema stars.
Tourism and Kannada and Culture Minister C.T. Ravi, MLA L.Nagendra, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, MPs Pratap Simha, Sumalatha and Sreenivasa Prasad and a host of other peoples’ representatives will be present at the launch of the event.
The programme will take place from 5.30pm to 10pm on all the days, during which hundreds of students from numerous colleges of Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts will perform dance, plays, music etc.,
On an average, 25 colleges will be allowed to perform everyday, with each college getting about 10 minutes.
The top performers at the event will be given a chance to give a performance at the grand ‘Yuva Dasara’ event which will be held after the inauguration of Dasara festival on Sept.29.
