COVID-19: DC asks Private Hospitals to reserve 50 percent beds

Mysore/Mysuru: With the district recording rising number of COVID-19 positive cases, Deputy Commissioner B. Sharat has asked private hospitals to reserve 50 percent of their beds for COVID care.

In a press release, Sharat said that all private hospitals have been asked to classify Wards like General  Ward, Oxygen Ward, HDU Ward and ICU Ward. Also, it is mandatory for every hospital to reserve 50 percent of their beds for COVID-19 treatment under ABRK Scheme.

He also directed for getting hands-on training in operating Bed Facility Application Allotment India Council Portal and to know the password  and log in credentials regarding USRID scheme.

The DC further said that all private hospitals are required to upload reports on SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness) and ILI (Influenza like illness) cases on the portal http://kpme.karnataka.tech/index.php/admin/patients

Warning the private hospitals against collection of excessive fees for tests, the DC warned of legal action against such hospitals found charging exorbitant fees.

The DC also said that Speciality Hospitals which find it difficult to admit General COVID-19 patients, can be transformed into Speciality COVID-19 Centres.
