‘Covid pandemic made people aware of doctors role’

July 4, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: “The Covid-19 pandemic that  struck the country opened the eyes of the world to the greatness of the doctors and their essentiality,” said Dr. Anil.

He was speaking during National Doctors Day celebration organised by Mysuru and Chamarajanagar Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra Owners Association at Kanti Mallanna Kalyana Mantap, Kabir Road in city. Doctors from various hospitals were felicitated.

The world of doctors exists for the well-being of the people, and thousands of doctors have even lost their lives in the line of duty. Be it the doctors of any specialisation, they should develop the mindset of keeping the welfare of the patients above their personal interests. The service rendered by Dr. B.C. Roy (whose birth anniversary is celebrated as National Doctors Day), should be an inspiration for  both senior and junior doctors, added Dr. Anil.

The medical education is becoming costlier, inevitably leading to a rise in treatment costs. Even though it is difficult to provide education free of cost, it should be made affordable to common man, he said.

Following doctors from different hospitals were felicitated on the occasion; Dr. M.S. Shivakumar, Dr. M. Ramya, Dr. R. Manimala, Dr. Vanishri, Dr. Anil and Dr. Shankaraiah.

Distributor of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra M. Lokesh, Association Office-bearers G. Harsha,  Umesh, Girija, Lakshmi, Kishore, Mallesh and Prema Kumari, Supervisor of Jan Aushadhi Kendra Anupam Pathak, J. Nagamani, Darshan Murthy and proprietors of other Jan Aushadhi Kendras were present.
