COVID vaccination for frontline workers begins: Mysuru DC Rohini Sindhuri takes shot

  • Six Centres opened at Trauma Care Centre, three in District Hospital
  • 16,657 beneficiaries in Mysuru District  to receive shot till Feb. 10

Mysore/Mysuru: After vaccinating 52 percent of healthcare workers, now it is the turn of frontline workers to receive the jab from today in the district. 

COVID-19 Immunisation Officer Dr. L. Ravi told Star of Mysore that 16,657 beneficiaries will be vaccinated in the district till Feb. 10 and added that six Centres have been opened at the Trauma Care Centre and three at the District Hospital in city to administer the vaccine. 

Vaccination for frontline workers in rural areas would be held at all Taluk Hospitals and Community Health Centres, Dr. Ravi said and added that Covishield vaccine is being administered at 20 places in the district today besides stating that there was adequate stocks of Covishield.

30 beneficiaries were vaccinated at Trauma Care Centre, while 100 were vaccinated at the District Hospital when we went to the press at 2 pm.
