Cow thieves arrested

One cow rescued, goods vehicle seized

Mysore/Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police have arrested five persons on charges of stealing a cow and have rescued the cow besides seizing the goods vehicle in which the animal was being transported.

Those arrested are 28-year-old Prashanth of Hookunda village in Kanakapura taluk, 26-year-old Akshay Kumar and 19-year-old Darshan of K.G. Koppal, 21-year-old Shivu of Janatanagar and 20-year-old K.N. Shivu of Kasuvinahalli in Nagamangala taluk.

Public, who saw the accused transporting the cow in a Bolero goods vehicle, stopped the vehicle near Bogadi check post and informed the Police. The Police, who took the five persons into custody, interrogated them during which they came to know that the five persons had stolen the cow near Rajarajeshwari Nagar Ring Road and were transporting it, following which the Police arrested them. Saraswathipuram Police, who have rescued the cow and seized the goods vehicle, are investigating.
