CPI(M) demands financial aid to needy

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Mysuru District Unit of CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office on Tuesday demanding financial aid of Rs. 7,500 per month to all poor families in the State, who are facing severe hardship due to lockdown.

Protesters alleged that the Central Government had imposed lockdown without proper planning, as a result of which poor are suffering hugely. They also highlighted other issues and urged the Government to stop privatisation of public sector undertakings. Alleging that there is scarcity of medications as well as ventilators and other medical equipment in the State, the protestors demanded availability of sufficient equipment and medications for the patients and condemned the continuous rise in petrol and diesel prices.
