A two-day Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) State-level Workshop for Post-Graduate and Research students, began at Cauvery auditorium in KSOU campus, Muktagangothri, here this morning.
Veteran Littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. CPK regretted that irrelevant issues are being debated in Universities, which are temples of education. Regretting the decline in moral and human values, he underlined the need for students to move forward with a strong cultural foundation.
Expressing concern over the growing menace of negative values, he highlighted the need for spreading cultural and rural values among the student fraternity and younger generation.
Stressing on the need for building intellectualism among students, Dr. CPK exhorted the student fraternity to develop a positive mindset in tackling the problems that have been haunting the country for long.
Flower petals were showered on the portraits of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda and Goddess Saraswathi on the occasion.
ABVP National General Secretary Vinay Bidare, State President Dr. Allama Prabhu, Jagadish Mane of Karnatak University – Dharwad, GSS Foundation Head Srihari and others were present.
Hundreds of ABVP activists, students and scholars are taking part in this two-day workshop which concludes tomorrow.
