Sir,
The junction on KRS Road, in front of the Railway Community Hall near Ramakrishna Vidyashala, connects key areas including Yadavagiri, V.V. Puram, Vontikoppal, KRS Road, Gokulam Extension and Mysuru city.
With five major roads converging at this point, motorists currently face a wait of 4 to 5 minutes at the traffic signals, a situation exacerbated by the growing population and increasing number of vehicles in Mysuru.
Fortunately, this junction has ample space that could be transformed into a large circular junction, similar to K.R. Circle in the city centre or Ramakrishna Circle in Ramakrishnanagar.
Such a development would not only enhance traffic flow but also beautify the area. Additionally, the junction holds cultural significance due to its proximity to landmarks like Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Ramakrishna Ashram, and Sri Lakshmivenkataramanaswamy Temple.
A fitting proposal is to name the revamped junction “Princess Circle” in memory of the Princess of the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. This would resonate with the local community, as the stretch is already known as Princess Road, preserving the historical legacy cherished by the people of Mysuru.
