Mysore/Mysuru: Lending a helping hand to the MCC’s initiative of providing food to the poor and the needy, city based NGO Credit-I has taken up the responsibility of providing food and articles of daily use to all the shelterless people housed at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry.
Speaking to SOM, Credit-I Managing Trustee Dr. M.P. Varsha said that Credit-I with help from several other NGOs, has taken up the responsibility of meeting the basic needs of the shelterless and destitutes housed at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown.
Pointing out that a watch will also be kept on the health of all inmates, Dr. Varsha said that several useful activities will be launched to keep them engaged.
Also, they will be trained for taking up self-employment once the lockdown gets over, Dr. Varsha said and added that efforts will be made to ensure that the inmates walk out with some money in hand once the lockdown gets over.
MCC Additional Commissioner Shashikumar said that Credit-I has been entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of all those sheltered in Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry till the lockdown ends, while the MCC itself will be in-charge of three other shelter camps in the city.
