Cricket betting: Eight arrested; Rs. 64,400 cash, 12 mobile phones seized

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police and Lashkar Police on May 10, acting on a tip off that some people were indulging in cricket betting in Dr. Rajkumar Park, raided the spot and arrested eight persons besides seizing Rs. 64,400 cash and 12 mobile phones from them.

The arrested have been identified as Javeed Ali Khan of Mandi Mohalla, Imran Ahmed of Nanjangud, Rizwan Pasha of Lashkar Mohalla, Sulaiman of K.N. Pura, Mohammed Nazir of Mandi Mohalla, Junaid Pasha of Rajiv Nagar, Arun Kumar of Srirampura and Syed Fairoz of Shanthinagar. A case has been registered at Lashkar Police Station in this regard.

CCB ACP C. Gopal supervised CCB Inspector Prasanna Kumar, Lashkar Inspector Kantharaju and staff D. Sreenivasa Prasad, K.M. Mahadevappa, Purushotham, Shylesh and Dhananjay, in the raid, nabbing and seizing operation.
