Mysuru: Nearly Rs. 5.12 crore is earmarked for works taken up under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2017-18, the proposals for which were shared at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, here yesterday at his office.
The DC discussed the outlay for various projects taken up with the assistance of Reserve Bank of India fund and from other organisations. Rs. 8 lakh has been estimated for the construction of public toilets at DC Office under the RBI fund and Rs. 13 lakh for putting up six solar water heaters, steam cooking boiler, fogging machines to control mosquito menace, computers and ceiling fans at Mysuru Central Jail.
Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Rs.80.34 lakh worth aids and equipment for specially disabled children will be supplied to 120 schools and Rs.10 lakh will be distributed to purchase computers for girl students of Maharani’s College for women.
Anganwadis will benefit with construction of 79 kitchens, besides, 150 Angawadis will get solar fans and racks all worth Rs.365 lakh at both rural and urban centres. It was also decided to repair the Mysore Medical College Alumni Association wall and ceiling at a cost of Rs.15 lakh.
Larsen and Toubro will provide solar-powered TV sets to administrative block of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in DMG Halli apart from rain water harvesting unit, reverse osmosis plant and bio gas plant at a cost of Rs.56 lakh under its CSR scheme. The projects will take off in the beginning of March.
CSR Nodal Officer and District Industries Centre (DIC) Joint Director Ramakrishne Gowda, DDPI Manjula, Women and Child Development Department Deputy Director Radha, DIC Assistant Director Nazeer Ahmed and CII Mysore Zone Head V. Mouli and others were present.
