Cultural event marks Annual Day

Mysuru: A colourful cultural programme marked the Annual Day celebrations of Hari Vidyalaya in city recently.

Prof. G. Hemanthkumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore (UoM), who spoke as the chief guest, was of the opinion that teaching little children is more enjoyable than teaching children from the higher classes.

He rued the lack of interest in reading amongst the present day students and called upon the children to develop the habit of reading good books, by making use of the library facilities available.

He mentioned the fact that libraries were over crowded during his student days, but are almost empty nowadays. He said that referring to the internet can never equal the joy and satisfaction we get from reading books.

Staff Members of Hari Vidyalaya, who have completed ten years of service, namely Srivatsa, Principal, Lakshmi, Head Mistress , Geetha Murthy, Head Mistress, Hootagalli branch and Srikanth, PE teacher were felicitated in recognition of their outstanding services.The Best outgoing students from Classes 10 and PUC were felicitated, and also Ashmitha from Class 8, for consistently  winning prizes in Bhagavad Gita chanting.

All students, right from LKG to PUC, delighted the audience with a Kannada drama, mime show, and a wide variety of dance performances.

Journalist Niranjan Nikkam, Hari Vidyalaya Secretary Bhagavan, Director Prof. K.V. Satyan,  Principal N. Srivathsa and Head Mistress Lakshmi were present.
