Curb defacing of public property

Sir,

This is with reference to the news item titled “Direction boards defaced” in Star of Mysore dated July 8.

Currently,  defacing the public property is happening on State- run buses, direction boards, pillars of circles, walls and doors of public toilets, temple corridors, bus stands, railway stations  and at so many other places without any control.

I strongly suggest that such defacing activities should be curbed with  necessary legal actions and penalising the ones who are involved.

Simplest way of identifying the culprits is  by taking note  of the  phone numbers provided on pamphlets / bills / letters/ advertisement stickers etc., pasted on public properties.

These phone numbers are those of the persons who have originally printed these to get public attention  and then given it to paid persons to paste wherever they wish.

Once we start the process of penalising such irresponsible persons, definitely these would come to rest at the shortest period of time.
