Curb noise pollution by street hawkers

Sir,

Everybody is pitying and encouraging street hawkers for giving the supply of our daily needs at our doorsteps, thus avoiding crowding at business places during Corona times.

But of late, many street hawkers have started using amplified speakers for their sales and services on roads one after the other and also simultaneously (like menace during election time and sale of lottery tickets in cabs and autos about a couple of years back) which distracts and disturbs students attending to online classes, work from home employees, especially at the time of meetings, which demands utmost concentration.

Besides, the loud speakers also trouble the toddlers, senior citizens and patients. Many a time we even missed important warnings and messages conveyed by law-enforcing agencies like Police and City Corporation. Sometimes the irritating sound even impairs hearing of vehicle horns leading to accidents.

I request the authorities to curb such illegal noise pollution at the earliest and help the hapless general public and motorists.
