D.V. Halabhavi awardees

Mysuru:  Prof. M.J. Kamalakshi (2017) and Dr. S.S. Patil (2018) have been selected for the prestigious D.V. Halabhavi Award instituted by JSS  Mahavidyapeetha in association with Bellad Education and Agricultural Foundation, Dharwad.

Prof. Kamalakshi is a multi-talented artist having made a name in theatre, chorus singing, painting, nature cure, Reiki and Acupressure. She has served as the Principal of Chitrakala Parishat’s Arts School, as a member of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat and also headed Study Chairs at different Universities.

A Rajyotsava Awardee (2015), she has won many other awards and prizes, including the prestigious Karnataka Lalithakala Academy Award. Dr. S.C. Patil has over three decades of experience in the arts field. He has won many accolades as a researcher and writer. Having served in the Department of Fine Arts of Hampi Kannada University, he has many awards to his credit.

The two personalities will be conferred the award at a programme to be held shortly, according to a release from JSS  Mahavidyapeetha.
