Dacoity case: Gold company owner in Police custody

Bengaluru: Kudur and Tavarekere Police have taken Babu alias Bommanahalli Babu, owner of Attica Gold Company into custody for his alleged involvement in a dacoity case and have interrogated him.

Kudur Inspector Dalagowda arrested Babu from his Queens Road office yesterday. A case of dacoity case was registered at Tavarekere Police Station and the accused in the case had confessed of giving the stolen booty to Babu. Based on the information provided by the accused, notice was served to Babu to appear before the Police and as Babu failed to appear, the Police obtained a ‘Body Warrant’ and took Babu into custody for questioning.

Meanwhile, tense moments prevailed at Babu’s office last evening when the Police, who came to arrest Babu on charges of buying stolen gold, were attacked by his supporters.

Babu refused to sit in the Police jeep and when the Cops forced him, his supporters allegedly attacked the Police and also tried to attack mediapersons who were covering the incident.
