Mysuru: Jain Muni Dr. Sri Samakitmuniji Maharaj has been conferred with ‘Dakshina Bhaskar’ title by Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh, Mysuru, during the Universal Forgiveness Day Samvatsari Mahaparva’ in the presence of Jain Muni Sri Shrutmuniji Maharaj, Sri Bhawantmuniji Maharaj and Sri Jayawantmuniji Maharaj in city recently.
Dr. Sri Samakitmuniji Maharaj is in city for Chaturmas at Jain Sthanak Bhavan, Mahaveernagar, Mysuru, till Nov.26.
This title was conferred for his dedicated spiritual service since past 20 years. As a practice, Jain Saints do not carry any valuables or medals and awards with them. Hence, ‘Dakshina Bhaskar’ title was conferred by presenting ‘Cholpatta’ (cotton shawl worn by Jain Munis) printed with the title.
President of Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh B.A. Kailash Chand Jain, Past Presidents Mohanlal Sethiya, Hastimal Darla, Parasmal Dak, Mohanlal Kothari and Bikam Chand Bafna, Secretary Susheel Nandawat, Manmal Darla, Dharmik Shikshan Sangh President Budhmal Baghmar, Yuva Sanghatana President Rajan Baghmar presented this Cholpatta to the Muni. Vice-President Mangilal Choradiya, Treasurer Rajendrakumar Bhansali, Joint Secretary Dharmchand Nandavath, Secretary Rakesh Bantia, Vice-President Manohar Sankhala were present, according to a press release by Joint secretary Rajendra Desarla.
