April 23, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: A damaged open manhole in front of a house at Ashraya Housing Colony in Tanveer Sait Nagar at Rammanahalli is posing health hazards to the residents.

Mohammed Khalandar Sharif Javeed, a resident of the Colony, said that the manhole was damaged about two years ago and despite lodging complaints with Ashraya Committee and the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), the officials have turned a blind eye towards the problem leaving the residents of the Housing Colony to suffer.

He said that stench emanating from the damaged manhole is unbearable and there is an increase in disease spreading mosquitoes and flies in the Colony which may cause outbreak of epidemic diseases.

The residents have urged the authorities concerned to take steps to replace the damaged manhole at the earliest.
