Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has arranged a dance ballet and a Karnatak classical vocal concert this weekend at its Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysore K. Vasudevacharya Bhavana on JLB Road in city.
Saturday (Aug. 15 at 6 pm): ‘Chintana Ramayana,’ a dance ballet by ‘Kalarpanam,’ Mysuru.
‘Kalarpanam’ is a dance troupe formed in 2018, by young and talented dancers-disciples of different dance gurus representing various dance heritages of Mysuru. They are moving towards setting a new dimension in the field of dance by presenting performances and participating in various dance competitions. Some of their presentations which have earned acclaim are ‘Shri Krishna Leelamritha’, ‘Shankaraabharana’, ‘Sanmaargam’, ‘Fusion Bharatanatyam’, ‘Nritya Marga’, ‘Abhigamya’, ‘Tatvam Prathi’ and ‘Thyaga Vaibhavam’, etc.
Sunday (Aug. 16 at 6 pm): Karnatak classical vocal concert by Vid. N.R. Prashanth. He will be accompanied by Vid. S. Janardhan on violin, Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. Shrinidhi R. Koundinya on ghata. Vid. Prashanth’s training in music began under Vid. R.K. Padmanabha and continued under Vid. Titte Krishna Iyengar. His tutelage under Vidu. Neela Ramgopal enriched his repertoire with a wide range of compositions. Later, under the mentorship of Prof. R. Visweswaran, he deepened his understanding of the intricacies of music.
