Dance workshop and Guruvandana on Oct. 24

Kumar Performing Arts Centre, Mysuru, has organised a day-long workshop on ‘TaalaDwitaalaPrakriye’ by Vid. N. Manjunath of Puttur (renowned Bharatanatya artiste), who is a holder of “India Book of Record” and “Asia Book of Record,” on Oct. 24 Vid. G. T. Swamy, renowned mridanga artiste and Assistant Professor, Department of Mridanga, UCFA, MGM, will inaugurate the workshop on Oct. 24 (Sunday) at Kalemane Auditorium in Hebbal at 9 am.

Those willing to attend the workshop must have passed junior exam in dance. Music students can also participate. The last date for registration is Oct. 20.

The workshop will be followed by Duet Bharatanatyam Performance ‘Nrithyaarpanam’ by Vid. N. Manjunath and Vidu. V. Vanishree of Mangaluru, disciples of Karnataka KalashreeVidu. SharadhamaniShekar and Vidu. Shreelatha Nagaraj Shetty of Mangaluru, at 6 pm.On the occasion, Guruvandana will be offered to Karnataka KalashreeVidushiDr.Tulasi Ramachandra, Founder & Director of Nrithyalaya Trust, Mysuru; Vid.
