Dangerous fuse boxes

Sir,

It is not known whose great idea it was to fix the fuse boxes to electrical poles so close to the ground in entire Mysuru city. Due to lack of maintenance, many such fuse boxes are appearing open without any closures and the wires exposed (see photo taken very recently on D.Devaraj Urs Road close to Santhepet Cross) and inviting risk of giving electric shock to people, especially children, who do not know the consequence of touching such open wires.

There are several such open fuse boxes on D.D. Urs Road and JLB Road itself. This reminds me the recent incident in which a cow, which went close to a transformer in search of food got electrocuted near Abhishek Circle in city (Star of Mysore dated Aug.7).

It is requested that the Department staff concerned should proactively close all such fuse boxes with proper lids (covers) and relocate to a much safer (higher) place on the poles for the safety of citizens before any causality is reported due to such open fuse boxes. They should not wait for a mishap to happen to take action!
