Though Mysuru City Traffic Police are trying their level best to inculcate some discipline to the un-disciplined motorists, our un-disciplined motorists are refusing to reciprocate.
We find many two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers using high power “Halogen” headlights. Many Chinese origin cheap high wattage halogen lamps are available in the market and the motorists replace the original headlights with these high power lamps.
These halogen headlights emit a white light with a high luminance which causes momentary blindness to the motorists driving in the opposite direction, which can be fatal.
During night hours we find the Traffic Police apprehending only the drunken drivers and they generally do not check for any other visible traffic rules violations. Apart from checking drunken driving, Traffic Police should also check and impose penalty against all other visible traffic rules violations.
